“Before you begin scrambling up the ladder of success make sure that it is leaning against the right building”
My to do list can get so HUGE that It scares me and I just walk away.
Haha... How silly, right!?)
Sometimes I feel like I am being perfectionist, and I
believe it is normal to want to be better and more organized and it is the only
solution for a CHANGE.
Every time I need a little shake, I go back to one of
my favorite books “Eat that Frog” by Brian Tracy.
His concept is Brilliant and it helped me in a few
projects. I am definitely in need to use it more nowadays.)
Ok, so here are the
STEPS in Brian's book. He says that by using this steps you can double or
even triple your
productivity:
-
Decide exactly what you want.Think of your goals or project. Think in details until you are absolutely, crystal clear know what it is the final product or goal that you want.
-
Write it down.Think on a paper. You create something that you can touch and see. Unwritten goals lead to confusion.
-
Set a deadline for your goal. That is a challenging part for me.Without a deadline you will naturally procrastinate and get very little done.
-
Make a list of everything you can think of that you going to have to do to achieve your goals. As you think of new activities add them to your list until it is completed. It will dramatically increase the livelihood that you will achieve your goals.
-
Organize list into plan.Organize by priority and sequence. Decide what needs to be done first. Lay out your plan visually in a form of series of boxes. You will be amazed at how much easier to track if you break it down.
-
Take actions immediately.Do something. An average plan ins better than a brilliant plan on which nothing is done.
-
Resolve to do something every day that moves you towards your goal.Build this activity into your daily schedule. Did you know that if you do something for 21 day it will become a habit? Think about your goals and review them daily.
Exercise for you:
Write down few goals that you want to achieve this
year. Write it as its already happened in present tense, so your subconscious
mind can accept it. Then pick one goal that if you achieve it
would have the greatest positive impact on your life. Set deadline, make a plan,
take actions. This exercise alone can change your life.
